Job Description

  • Providing Theoretical and clinical instructions for students to ensure mastery of skills in all Nursing and midwifery programs
  •  Monitoring student’s performance to maintain institutional standards
  •  Developing and reviewing curriculum in line with Nursing Council of Kenya requirements to enhance nursing and midwifery knowledge and skills
  •  Developing and coordinating extra-curricular activities for students at regular intervals
  •  Ensuring proper management of consumables and assets to maximize efficiency and cost control
  •  Coordinating students' placement and assessment as required
  •  Conducting performance assessments of tutors and instructors regularly
  •  Offering guidance and counselling to supervised staff to promote high levels of personal integrity, team spirit and outstanding work standards
  •  Co-ordinating all the activities about all programs including but not limited to advertising and marketing of the programs, interviews and admission, continuous monitoring and evaluation, and coordination of internal and external placements
  •  Ensuring the highest disciplinary standards among the students
  •  Attend any standing or ad hoc committee meetings of the hospital as guided by the DNE
  •  Any other duty assigned

Required Qualifications for the Position

  •  Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  •  Bachelor of Science in Midwifery
  •  Higher diploma in Kenya Registered Critical Care Nursing, Kenya Registered Nephrology Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery or Master in Midwifery or any related nursing field is an added advantage
  •  Counselling certificate
  •  Computer Proficiency
  •  Minimum 5 years in Nursing/Midwifery active teaching practice
  •  Registered with NCK with a valid practising license
