KEY PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pricing: developing pricing models and analyzing pricing trends to ensure that products are accurately priced to meet the needs of customers and the financial goals of the company.
Reserving: calculating and analyzing reserves for life insurance products, including both current and future liabilities. This will involve analyzing claims data and using actuarial techniques to project future claims.
Capital Modelling: developing and maintaining capital models to assess the company's capital adequacy and to support business planning and decision making. This will involve analyzing risk exposures and identifying the appropriate level of capital required to support the company's operations.
Solvency Computation: responsible for calculating and analyzing solvency ratios to ensure that the company is in compliance with regulatory requirements and to assess the company's financial stability.
Regulatory Reporting: preparing and submitting regulatory reports as required by local and international regulatory authorities. This will involve gathering and analyzing data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Actuarial Valuations: performing actuarial valuations for life insurance products, including calculating policyholder liabilities, analyzing trends and assumptions, and preparing reports.
Budgeting: developing and maintaining budgets for the life insurance products, including analyzing trends and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
Projections: developing and maintaining projections for the life insurance products, including analyzing trends and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
IFRS 17 Computations: calculating and analyzing the impact of IFRS 17 on the life insurance products, including analyzing the impact on financial statements and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
Any other duties as prescribed by the Supervisor.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or an equivalent
JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other Actuarial relevant tools
Analytical and highly innovative
Presentation skills
Communication and interpersonal skills
Team player and high organization skills
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Progress in obtaining an actuarial qualification, a minimum of 7 actuarial examinations.
a strong understanding of actuarial principles, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
A strong background in mathematics, statistics, and finance is essential, as is the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years’ relevant experience
