Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organisation that provides assistance to people affected by war, conflict, natural disasters, outbreaks and epidemics or healthcare exclusion. The organisation now works in more than 70 countries around the world, with significant projects across East African countries including in Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
MSF France has had a significance presence in Kenya since 1996. Currently, MSF runs 2 projects in Kenya; one in Homa Bay County supporting the HBCTRH in the adult medical (in-patient and TB) wards to improve management of adults’ patients hospitalized and recently running chronic disease activities in 2 decentralized sites. In Eastlands, MSF runs a 24hours SGBV clinic and an Emergency program in Mathare with a clinic in Dandora offering youth friendly socio-medical services to those between the ages of 10 to 24 years. The Coordination office in Nairobi provides support to and coordinates all the MSF France projects in Kenya.
MSF France is looking to fill the position of a Mission Pharmacy Manager based in Nairobi with frequent travel to the projects. The successful candidate reports to the Medical Coordinator (Medco).
Objective of the Position:
Defining, coordinating and monitoring all pharmacy related activities in the Mission according to MSF standards and values, the Medical Coordinator instructions and with consideration of national and international laws and regulations: in order to ensure the quality and proper organization of medical supply processes, procedures and protocols, the proper management of the medical stock in the projects and, in collaboration with the medical coordinator, the correct use of medicines and medical material.
