Job Description

Probation 3 months
Location Nairobi

Reports to Commercial Sales Director

Marie Stopes Kenya is an NGO registered in Kenya as a local implementing partner of MSI Reproductive Choices, a UK charity. We deliver quality sexual and reproductive healthcare, family planning and other women’s health services to millions of the world's poorest and most vulnerable women. We want to make sure that women have a choice when it comes to having children and that death by unsafe abortion is reduced.

The Credit Controller works in a team as part of the Commercial Sales Department and in close collaboration with the Finance Department. The position will report to the Commercial Sales Director with a dotted line to the Senior Accountant.
The purpose of this role is to support the process that ensures that MSI RCK Ltd retail and corporate debts are collected on a timely basis and accurate statements of accounts are made available to debtors and timely and accurate reports are made available to management regularly to achieve long term financial sustainability for MSI RCK.
It is the responsibility of this role is to further our goal of MAKING CHOICE POSSIBLE for every Kenyan.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly income reports
  • Consistent follow up, collection and reconciliation of trade debtors
  • Preparation and distribution of debtor’s statements
  • Preparation of monthly collection and debtors update for CMT
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Other Duties

  • Prompt and orderly filing of records related to own work
  • Any other duties that may reasonably be required of post holder including participation in stock taking
  • Provide support to Finance Department during annual institutional audit

Knowledge, skills and attitude

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related fields from a recognized institution of higher learning or CPA II

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in accounting and credit management Skills
  • Possess excellent IT skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
