Permanent Method Provider

Reporting to the Channel Lead – Outreach & PSS, the Permanent Method Provider is responsible for the delivery of the permanent methods strategy within Marie Stopes Kenya Outreach (FPO) and selected Marie Stopes Kenya (MSK) Centres. FPO teams deliver high quality family planning including permanent methods to the poorest, marginalized and hardest to reach areas of Kenya, and deliver the majority of MSK’s health impact.

The post holder will directly be responsible for the permanent methods delivery from selected teams. He/she will be responsible for increasing accountability in terms of mitigating fraud, increasing the productivity and quality of care of the permanent services. He/she will be closely supported by other teams across MSK and monitored routinely by the channel lead on the progress made.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve the productivity and efficiency of the Outreach Teams
  • With the support of the channel lead outreach, develop, establish and agree on annual plans and strategies for each FPO Team to reach their service numbers, CYP and permanent methods{MSV/MSL) targets.
  • Support Outreach teams and selected centres in permanent methods service delivery on routine basis as scheduled by team leaders and centre managers.
  • Work closely with MSK regional Marketing officers and team leaders to strategize locally appropriate marketing strategies to increase overall client flow, as well as client flow from target audiences such as youth and high risk populations
  • Flag and mitigate against potential or actual fraud risks in collaboration with the MSK Internal Audit team Improve adherence to systems and supporting quality in FPO operations
  • To provide competent clinical services as per the standards and guidelines of MSK
  • To participate in relevant Continuous Professional Development opportunities available
  • Support in incidence reporting and management
  • To observe professional code of conducts at all times within and outside MSK
  • Ensure that working advance requests, payment requests, surrenders and other paperwork are accurately and timely submitted
  • Ensure clear documentations (Consent forms) and other reports are done and submitted on time
  • Ensure zero tolerance to Fraud is implemented to self and FPO team within the region
  • Ensure banking and surrenders are done monthly and correctly Support improvements in clinical quality · Work closely with the MSK QAM team to follow up action plans post internal audits within the teams to ensure high quality services are delivered at all times in teams
  • Ensure all clinical incidents are reported and managed as per MSI guidelines as required
  • Ensure teams make orders on stocks related to MSL/MSV services stored and managed in accordance with MSI global standards Demonstrate leadership qualities
  • Consistently model MSK leadership behaviours and develop leadership qualities
  • Present regularly to the teams meeting on Progress on performance and new initiatives to improve MSL/MSV performance
  • Build pride among Teams and counties as provider of choice in MSL/MSV services Knowledge, skills and attitudes

 Qualifications , Experience & skills:

  • Degree in Medicine or a Diploma in Clinical Medicine & a Higher Diploma in Reproductive Health
  • Registered and licensed by relevant regulatory body.
  • A Qualification Project cycle management is desirable Skills and attitude:
  • Experience in provision of permanent methods for over 2 years.
  • Experience in improving clinical quality through supportive supervision and mentorship.
  • Experience in dynamic, fast paced problem solving and turning around teams with challenges.
  • Experience as a line manager including performance management is desirable.
  • Experience in reproductive health programming is desirable.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office package.
  • Analytical ability and a creative thinker.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English with exceptional writing and presentation skills.
  • Team player, confident and resilient personality.
  • Ability to manage a very heavy and fluctuating work load.
