Executive Staff Training
Executive staff training encompasses activities aiming at developing skills and competencies of persons who will be holding executive positions in organizations. Staff training refers to development in perspectives such as skills and competencies building. The core purpose of executive staff training is to build tactical skills, also known as hard skills. Skills in relation to finance, marketing, and operations should be developed among executives. Soft skills such as communication and team building should also form part of executive staff training.
We provide primary activities in relation to:
We provide input into an organization’s strategy formulation process whereby we identify and recommend what is required of executives from a capability perspective. We also measure existing capabilities against standard capabilities. Further, Covenant identifies the gap between current assessment and requirements, with the aim of developing capabilities that meet the need of the built environment.
We create development activities and experiences for various levels of ‘executive’ management. Development initiatives also focus on internal and external partners with an aim of introducing development practices.
Development options include:
- Coaching executives.
- Action learning.
- Developing custom workshops and activities.
- Online courses and resources.
We guarantee best practices in relation to long standing development activities. The following activities are highly regarded in executive staff training:
Communicate a compelling vision: Executive staff training needs to build a consistent case and completing case around development strategy
Gain support from key sponsors: Executive staff training enables ‘executive’ to gain contacts across many functions within and outside the organization. An advisory board should be established to solicit input from stakeholders. Further, businesses need a professional network as the ‘currency’ for professional development
Development in business challenges: Executives may experience doubts. We are committed to informing executives that executive staff training should be rooted in solving current challenges while neglecting development initiatives that focus on individuals.
We design many custom made training programs including:
Skills to build effective work teams
To build cohesive teams- This is an experiential program to develop:
Trust, open communication, honesty and other prerequisites for WORK teams in the office.
In recent decades, the process of managing people has become more formalized and specialized. Many of the old performance appraisal methods have been absorbed into the concept of Performance Management, which aims to be a more extensive and comprehensive process of management. Some of the developments that have shaped Performance Management in recent years are the differentiation of employees or talent management, management by objectives and constant monitoring and review.
It’s development has been accelerated by the following factors:
- The introduction of Human Resource Management as a strategic driver and integrated approach to the management and development of employees.
- The understanding that the process of Performance Management is something that’s completed by line managers throughout the year – it is not a once off annual event coordinated by the personnel department.
- We train and support clients to establish and implement an objective performance appraisal system.
Our Supervisory training skill will help supervisors become more efficient and proficient, with information on delegating, managing time, setting goals and expectations (for themselves and others), providing feedback, resolving conflict, and administering discipline.

Strategic Planning & Management
Strategic planning and management is the process by which organizations choose to survive and compete.
We design this program to enable clients formulate and implement a long-term plan by which they can take maximum advantage of it’s present internal organizational strengths and future environmental opportunities while maximizing the impacts of present internal organizational weaknesses and future environmental threats.
Our Training approach has 3 phases:
Phase 1: Pre- Training Survey.
The culmination of this phase is the drawing up of a project document to facilitate the planning of the actual training delivery. It will map out a checklist for points to capture during the training session.
Phase 2: Training Facilitation.
This phase involves the actual delivery of the training and the monitoring of practical skill application. Upon completion of this phase the participants will evaluate the training and develop individual/group action plans.
Phase 3: Impact Assessment
A get-together of the group after 3 months for a half-day to: –
- Review action plans set in phase two.
- Share experiences on lessons learnt.
- Outline difficulties and come up with solutions.
- Plan the way forward.
